Yes, sounded very much like a scripted interview (in that questions were provided in advance). Many questions were asked that weren't properly answered IMHO (very much "spin" answers).
With ML on a salary of over $300k, why would he care how long it takes ... he can stretch this out for years while many of us can't - no skin off his nose (and I personally think that he couldn't give a monkeys about the average Retail Investor).
Anyway, let's hope that they do meet their targets for 2009 and get a couple of good quarters in for 2010, then we may see a light at the end of the tunnel.
