Bogged down negotiations dont need to be announced to the market, if that was the case the company would still be negotiating (no change to existing staus) and therefore no announcement required.
Agree, that type of statement is just a blatant down ramp.
IMO Sneeze has hit the nail on the head, trading halt issued prior to meeting to ensure no one could unfairly gain (one way or the other) from the meetings outcome.
