Peninsula Energy's (ASX: PEN) application for an Underground Injection Control (UIC) Class 1 area permit has been declared complete and technically adequate, paving the way for the final approval of five deep disposal wells in the Ross Permit Area.
The draft permit released by The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ) achieves another important milestone in the permitting process for the permit area within the Lance uranium project in Wyoming, USA.
The application was made by Peninsula�s wholly owned subsidiary, Strata Energy Inc.
WDEQ informed the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) which is now reviewing the application material and draft permit.
In addition the WDEQ has released the draft permit for public comment.
The permit will grant strata permission to drill the disposal wells which would be used to inject low-level wastes into brackish to saline ground water at depths in excess of 8,000 feet.
