That's not what was said at all. The interviewer asked if Appen could be tied up in the trade war.
Mark responded by saying of course he couldn't rule that out. However they had set up the operations independently and they aren't directly involved. He said the risk seemed low, and if it did become material their exposure to China was minimal anyway. Additionally the forward growth was like to be driven outside of China.
The reporters were looking for a headline and he didnt give them one. His answers were honest, no sales pitches.
