I am far from convinced that the chairman's conduct is sufficient to avert new elections. After the latest forecasts, the man sees his chances dwindling and now shows himself willing to compromise. Pathetic coward! We'll see if the opposition gives in. I doubt it. At any rate, if you read the user comments under the article, you get a small impression of how this move is being received by the population.
