Problem with NWS dividends in Australia: much of the dividend stays in the US because of the difficulty of getting the tax returned which the US takes out first. I have sent Computershare Investor Services P/L the W-8BEN Form a number of times and keep getting a “We are unable to apply a reduced tax treaty rate for the reasons below” blah, blah &c from the Customer Service Team.
Does anybody else have this difficulty?
