The ones I've had take you through to see all the 'errors' in the windows event log, then for a fee they offer to 'fix' them for you. :)
Mostly though I just sting them along for 20 minutes or so trying to find the 'start' button. Eventually I'll ask them "Where do you find it in Linux"? *click*
Having said that though I know a couple of oldies who got caught AFTER I warned them about it. :(
