India has no oil fields, they do have he KG basin which is a massive off shore gas field.

They have rapidly been converting vehicles over to CNG but are realizing that although very clean there is an issue with NOX emissions, Oxides of nitrogen or photochemical smog which contributes to the death of 500000 people a year in that country.

Obviously H2 is the answer but there is no infrastructure and current ICE (internal combustion engines) suffer from hydrogen embrittlement - The hydrogen atoms work their way into the metal structure of the internal components of the engine making them brittle and reducing the life of the engines dramatically.

HGNG has half the NOX emissions of CNG, does not cause embrittlement, can be used in both spark ignition and compression ignition ICE engines and has the advantage of the rolling out of H2 infrastructure for the H2 engines of tommorrow.

The only reason why people care about the games ATM is because of the media coverage.

there is no connection with the commonwealth games and Indias need to reduce pollution, the games will be here and gone in no time but the emissions issues cant go away.
