    the Balkan sale is said to be a clean simple contract, but the buyers probably have dirty money.

    By dirty money I guess that means gained via illegal means, nor not paying taxes etc.

    Just saying the buyer money are proceeds of crime, would they potentially have to be handed back if it was later legally confirmed to be proceeds for crime?

    I think that is likely, hence the banks conduct due diligence on the individuals and the money trail. BMB are using class 1 banks.

    So not only would BMB have to give back some money, but the lending banks would need to hand back money. I dont think BMB would want to sign an agreement, even if it was possible, freeing a bank from such a situation.

    Once knowledge of potential dirty money is involved, the legal status must also change.

    The above is speculation, but my question is, under a receiving proceeds of illegal source, result in funds being handed back?
