Yes, it seems they are talking this option up as a 'face saving' excercise for our PM. Do anything other than land them here, even if that means bringing them here indirectly after they are landed in Phils....
The lessons to be learned..............fake a distress somewhere near Australia, hijack Australian resources that were sent in good faith to assist you, blackmail Australia into meeting your demands and you WILL be given your wish.
The other lesson...........weak and indecisive Govt. is ripe for manipulation.
