Unless you have significant experience in the industry I don't know how you can assume to have a more accurate assessment of how much gold is in circuit than the experts working there, who are presumably using solid maths to calculate that figure rather than pure guesses at what seems like a fair number.
As for the length of time it took to process the ore, it certainly would be good to know the reasons for this, but I think its likely because they were being very careful to accurately record the head grade and tail grade of each lot of ore they put through the plant. Remember that nothing about this trial mining is particularly analagous to what full scale mining and processing will be. Also, the company has identified a number of modifications to be made at little expense to the plant in order to reduce the amount of gold getting trapped in circuit.
