Whilst the delays are frustrating and the way the announcement was worded from a BKP perspective is frustrating I would recommend you do some research into Hyrdogen Sulfide.
In mining biogenic H2S is typically related to coal mining, coal seam gas activities and importantly crude oil.
It is not an unusual occurrence and there are methods/sytems to cope with this.
It might not be all bad, though needs patience.
Feel free to do your own research on the chemistry behind this.
