ASX ANNOUNCEMENT
24 November 2004
SMC DOUBLE’S MONTHLY PRODUCTION IN OCTOBER 04
Production of Copper Concentrate in October 2004 reached double the total production
achieved in September 2004. SMC shipped 817 dry metric tonnes of copper
concentrate for a value of US$ 464,227 (AU$ 595,000). The average grade of the concentrate shipped was 18.73% copper, 5.57 g/t gold and 160.85 g/t silver.
This result is an important milestone in SMC’s plans for the Chilean operations. Now
that we have demonstrated our capacity to produce at a consistent rate, we willcommence improving the concentrate grade as we upgrade to 1500 tpd. This is an
excellent result given we have been working on the plant whilst producing concentrate.
