If the Patent was extended beyond 2025 im sure there would be partner interest for another HIV-1 trial with BIT225. Taking a year to find a compound for HBV don't look good. Im sure they will find one , do a phase 1,2 trial and come up with a successful result that is part of a cure. Its their speciality , a BIT cure.
