The thing to remember about shale plays is that oil in shale doesnt need to be within a closure. Its non movable. If its there it stays put...(until drilled) so if your neighbour is producing, chance is very good that you will too...and to the extent of your shale play.
Around Greenbush in the Bakken Shale adjoining tenements are being quickly taken up by oil majors.
