free will - thanks for your comment. i'm not an accountant but have some understanding of how non-recurring items can be interpreted. this is from the notes attached to the release yesterday...
"The reported Net Loss after income tax was $342.3 million, which is a significant
movement from our prior year position as a result of non-recurring items. Our
presentation will explain this in detail but with the removal of the non-recurring items
relating to impairment and tax adjustments the group’s net underlying net profit position was $43.1 million, this is an increase of 227% from the 2011 financial year."
