I think that we need to distinguish child labour from child exploitation. I personally have no objection to children doing work. It is where they are prevented from gaining an education that I object.

Born in the mid 70s and growing up in Australia in the 80s, I had to work hard as a child from the age of 6 and it helped to develop me into the capable person that I am today. My family were cash poor and I was almost never paid for my efforts, but I was lucky to be in Australia where I excelled at school and consequently have had access to an excellent education.

It is not child labour itself that we should boycott, but the prevention of these children from gaining an education.
