As part of researching history behind this company and digging into past news releases concerning iWebGate by other parties I found this interesting paragraph in a joint University of Maryland and Northrop Grumman Corporation statement. This UMBC/Northrop Grumman statement was made in the USA not long after IWebGate commenced as the first international company to be included in Northrop's Cyber Security CYNC program 2013.

" Northrop Grumman selected iWebGate to participate under their global supply chain's Australian Collaboration Team initiative. Through this initiative, Northrop Grumman will identify opportunities for iWebGate to compete as a supplier across its whole product range."

Cync Program statement "As a cyber security technology incubator initiative, the Cync programme aims to identify, develop and commercialise cyber technology to meet the needs of the USA Departments of Defence, Homeland Security and Justice, as well as the intelligence community while providing protection from a growing range of cyber threats."

The critical words in the Cync passage are "identify, develop and commercialise" cyber technology.
Implied in iWebGate inclusion in the Cync program is recognition of a significant new cyber security capability and its likely future impact.

Northrop Grumman appears to be the second largest supplier for the USA Government, and has a reputation for having highly competent professional/technical people with a skill for looking into the future and introducing successful technologies well beyond the status quo curve.

It makes sense to myself that the above can understand and see the potential. Why?
Because iWebGate creates a "new category in networking space with profound implications for connecting and supporting most of the ever increasing digital touch points coming available from technology and network advances (my words).

Again (all in my words) " a kind of Hover" is deployed in an invisible, virtual manner, this can come out of a cloud and hovers above any number of existing smart devices, phones, tablets, desktops servers, firewalls and other technologies.

Coupled with the option of a brand new iWG form of invisible connecting virtual cable and an iWG container to house inside the Hover any type/ number of applications (and execute the application as required) produces an attractive product suite. Love to see YouTube of the products in action and reports from users.

Because the Hover is suggested to work with any of the main operating systems the added bonus should be the ability to integrate many different systems, technologies and entities in a low cost and seamless way. The Consumer Internet and the Industrial Internet will also finally be able to include and deploy mass scale DMZ protection throughout every part of the infrastructure.

If I'm right in my understanding, the iWebGate capability will allow people to operate networks, connections and their systems with their external facing firewall ports all completely shut.

Welcome the "Internet Era of Closed Ports"!

The implication for cyber security and networking operation (as mentioned in earlier posts) is profound.
