Alan, having the reciepe is only half the problem.

I work in pharmacy and have a B.Applied Science in Biochemistry. I have seen plenty of examples of knowing what is in a formula but not how the formula is worked. For example, particle size is highly important, the order in which chemicals are mixed, how mixed the products are at each stage, the exact temperature to run at, how fast do you spin a drum and so on. Patents generally outline a process and keep particular specifications general on purpose.
Industrial pharmaceutical manufacturing has many parallels to industrial chemical processing and aluminum processing (within reason of course).
It is for these reasons that I very much trust in MHM to keep their process obfuscated and have an idea of how a particular step can radically alter the outcome of that process. Hopefully MHM have multiple steps that are needed to be just right for the process to work well, giving them that upper hand for a time to come.
