In Brief:-

Direct smelting of the nickel & cobalt bearing laterite ore becomes an attractive alternative to previously proposed chloride treatment. In this regard the Moomba - Sydney gas pipeline, plus the ready availability of coal has given major impetus to this proposed smelting alternative. This would produce a 20 year project for Young.

Bullabulling

An RAB drill is to arrive on the 11th August and start drilling immediately on nickel copper sulphides as well as gold.

Nyngan Scandium

Xstrata wants larger samples to work with. It seems this Scandium project is considered very sensitive and JRV will not comment on it.

2nd Chinese Group

Are expected to complete their appraisal within thirty (30) days and claim particular expertise in smelting. Guang Ye report their interest in ongoing.


In closing, I think the Company sounds very bullish with a great sense of urgency and gung ho IMO!
