MINING SECTOR
After three consecutive field visits in May, June, and July, the Inter-regional Directorate of the Ministry of Mines (DIRMIM) in Fianarantsoa recently met with actors in the mining sector in Ihosy in the Ihorombe region.

The objective of this meeting was to inform these actors about Law No. 007-2023, which governs mining resources.

The responsibilities of the different local authorities in monitoring the activities of the actors in the mining sector, the circulation of products, and the percentage of mining revenues reserved for the municipality and the region were discussed, among other topics.

The recent field visits also aimed to visit the artisanal actors in Ihorombe and the South of Haute Matsiatra to confirm the establishment of new supervisory zones, according to the Ministry of Mines.
