The updated Mining Code focuses more on the international standards required with the realities on the ground.

Financial support for the first phase of the World Bank's development policy support was disbursed in June 2023. The second is therefore waiting for the release of the decree implementing the Mining Code around the beginning of October.

Last May, the draft decree for the application of the Mining Code had entered its final phase announced by the Minister of Mines Herindrainy Rakotomalala.

Here are a few prioritized points

First, the Mining Fund for Social and Community Investment in the area of financial reforms. In the same vein, the DTSPM or rate of distribution of duties and taxes on mining products and the mode of collection (gold sector, large mines and artisanal exploitation).

For several months, public authorities and private mining operators debated the development of the new 2024 Mining Code, the public consultation of which took place at the Mining Business Center Ivato.
