One thing that may see the uptake of solar systems racing ahead is the fact that with this new NBN fibre to the home, if the power fails then so does all your communications and also things like security systems,people who wish to have a phone or any of these other things during a mains power failure outage will need and Uninterupted Power Supply (UPS) which will have an inverter perhaps? depending on whether the fibre terminal equipment is either, 12 volt dc or 240 volt ac operated, a battery a mains powered charger, and if they were going that far? then why not a solar panel as well for long mains power outages, perhaps that may even be the decider to go fully solar with mains back up?
