I too have often found this, and not just with thermal coal or Yancoal alone.
What appears to occur is that the collective 'Mr Market' reads a result (perhaps not as well as he ought), decides it's not as good as he'd have liked (including a weaker than expected dividend) and rapidly punishes the stock but then either overnight or in a small number of trading days, re-reads the summary result and does a little more research, and then decides he was 'harsh' and hence the SP rises somewhat.
Irrational but a reminder that none of us are omnipotent God.
