Dividends are NOT tax-free — they’re taxable just like other income. Franking credits serve to reduce the tax payable on dividend income, the rationale being that 30% tax (usually) has already been paid by the company which paid the dividend.
Please check your facts before making blanket statements that are patently wrong.
