If the whole tax asset needs to be written off (rather than just the tax losses and offsets part) then we require 539/0.3= $1.8bn of profits for the half year. I am hoping that it would be around $2.5bn so tax that leaves $700m of profit that is taxable. That is enough to give franking credits to 50c of dividend. From my novice view point I am hoping for some franking credits in the next dividend.
