proliferation fears bogus

This piece really puts the whole proliferation issue to bed. Controls in place limited illicit material between 1992-2006 to a total of 9.4 kilos. No mention of how divided up that quantity was but its safe to assume it was various transactions over more than a decade. They say you need 10 kilos to make a bomb. Remember were talking HEU (Highly enriched material) which is only mined from the Athabaska basin deposits. Otherwise it has to come out of an enriching facility.

So the whole proliferation fear used to argue against using nuclear energy should just be put to rest. Obviously the IAEA has a handle on the situation.
