A little history of Prominent Hill...
"Exploration interest is focussed on a large number of higher crustal
level targets that have not been adequately drill tested. Assessment
of Normandy's geophysical data, using proprietary inversion modelling
software generates specific drill targets in 3-D space with far
greater confidence than conventional modelling.
From the modelling undertaken, six targets(Armstrong North, Neptune,
Uranus, Peculiar Knob North, Manxmen B, and Blaze), all of which
have potential to host large mineralised systems, have been selected
for further test-work in the first year of the joint venture (Figure
4). In each case existing drilling results have established the
presence of significant hydrothermal activity and additional
evaluation is required to test for the development of high-grade
mineralisation within the limits of the alteration system. "
Prominent Hill drilling first began in August 29th, 2001 and it took them three months to announce the discovery hole.
The fact that they had 6 target drilling holes to discover the motherload, while only 2 holes are planned for Cyclops, does this suggest confidence by JR / Teck... or rather, arrogance?
My own opinion is that, they will need more than two drill holes to find what they want...
We await for next week on results of the second hole.
Good luck to all holders - LB
