whilst everybody is busily blaming Mugabe for the problems in Zimbabwe and supporting political moves to isolate him, can anyone explain how that is going to help it rain there. Whilst Mugabes policies may not be helping it, seems to me that most of their problems there are due to a severe drought, and carryover effects from previous severe droughts. Southern Africa seems to experience a similar drought pattern to Australia and like parts of Australia, are also in an extended drought pattern at the moment. Whilst it may be politicaly correct to condemn Mugabe, given that there is a humanitarian crisis developing due to a drought, is it the right thing to turn our backs on a suffering population at this time? If no help is received, the population are more likely to place the blame on others outside Zimbabwe rather than Mugabe himself.
