hi bg---well done on your research---just a point though--because the graph shows womans and mens employment as a proportion rather than an absolute it does mean there could in fact be a overall increase in employment--you would need to look at a much more detailed analysis of the types of employment ,whether womans jobs replaced mens jobs or whether new jobs were created,spending patterns of the new workforce ect---in the same manner a lesser proportion of men employed might suggest different employment patterns and different spending patterns and not necessarily less money to spend by those still employed
as an extreme example if 5--20k jobs are replaced by one 100k job then that will affect the type of spending patterns in the marketplace
