Make housing deposits 5% 10% or 20% as they once were.
Tighten bank lending practices.
Like not just rents but house prices to the cpi.
Get rid of the capital gains tax discount introduced by costello in 99.
Reduce negative gearing to half of what it is then scale it back no negative gearing unless new property ,shares business or farms etc
Release more land
The list is endless...unfortunately nothing will happen until we get a govt with balls or a govt forced into doing something cause the masses are renters

Or even build some new cities...not like we have a land shortage
