Releasing more land in the outer suburbs is the answer to the issue although even if they do they won't sell it block by block at the wholesale price of what it should be to needy first home buyers, they sell it in block lots to devolopers who then subdivide and then build no character toy town houses on it and sell them for a hefty profit!
You can buy a very respectable, self sustainable and modern prefab home for $50-$100k if you could just get a decent block in the outer burbs for a reasonable price say $25k -$50k to put it on, problem solved!
Or they can just keep building up eroding quality of life for around the same price as a house you can live in a box city apartment they are great when your single walk to work or don't own anything or have any kids. Try finding or paying for three car spaces or even a space for when friends come over and finding somewhere to store all of your belongings not in a city apartment thats for sure!
