Is this Sydney or Melbourne? I am familar with Burwood in Melbourne, but not so, if there is one in Sydney.
Buying in reasonable reach /proximity to a railway line is good (ie: for transportation access).
Buying, however, on the railway line is not a good idea.
Having regard to the sorts of prices you have mentioned, I agree with your conclusion on this.
