Property is a conundrum[?] of which I find really quite perplexing. On one hand, we have a huge shortage of housing atm , causing the now, 'rent boom'.On the other, housing seems to have reached the point where incomes just cannot afford the interest/principal repayments, therefore creating an 'income ceiling'.
Where can it go?, a massive catch up in wages, therefore surging inflation,in turn int rate rises.Or dropping interest rates, and slaughtering our economy with rampant inflation.
Easy, we say, a pop in the R/E bubble to equalise prices, but we still have massive demand, and higher yields with rent returns.
Personally, I just don't have a clue on this one, are there any other ways out of this dilemma [shared equity maybe?], where both sides are 'happy'? ..
