There is also the thought that CDO's directly increased money supply themselves which fed straight into property appreciation... and causing this particular cycle to be a more dramatic boom / bust.....
Australia seems to have the strongest fundamental property market in the world but for all the reasons holding prices up nothing will stop prices dropping when the excesses of the past are taken away...
