Jack your time frame seems very short term and thinking limited. Did you sell all of your shares in panic because they fell over 26% (some over 60%) in the last 12 months?
I have a strong mix of both shares and property. I like to spread the risk, as should be done. I will be very comfortable with passive income from numerous sources including both FFD and property.
Any short term drop in value means absolutely zip unless you are over geared and need to sell. I am neither, in fact quite cashed up at present and buying back into the share market, taking up what others have over sold.
"Buy when others are fearful and sell when they are greedy." The contrarian in me just loves that quotation.
