    uboy,
if one walks around with a blindfold on, with only a focus on a small corner of the big picture, then one might understand where they are coming from
but they appear to only focus on about 10% of the full picture
    missing the other 90%

most of their peers, or pretend gurus's out there do the same....so just following the sheep, with armegeddon theories, makes for a lot of small talk...
    without any substence
sure it sells news, bad news is a great seller...
    it tops the sales...

such a small community follow this forum, the rest of society is out there enjoying life, living in their own homes, not too worried about a mortgage, or prices

when I was a first home buyer, we simply enjoyed life, partied at home more often, had friends around for weekly do's, still ate out, did everything as normal.....

we rarely discussed house prices...had too much living to do, then there were the babies, and renovating etc

we both worked on our careers, earnt more money, paid down the capital

but then I lived in a time that was far different to today....well thats what the bears accuse us of...

we both worked, rates got to 18%....
our home was our castle, we had a lifestyle that we loved...we never dreamed of changing anything

it was not much different to how it is for most aussies today
    cheers
