For the landlord, it's tough shit, you should have seen this coming and made contingencies? Can the same not be said to the majority of renters?

Don't get me wrong, I dont think mass evictions and homelessness is the answer. I just think the burden is disproportionately and unfairly high on landlords in this scenario.

For the renter it's where they live.
For the investor it's an investment.

If you make a long term investment like real estate and you can't manage the debt if you have a few months without a renter, then it's a risky investment that you probably shouldn't have made in the first place.
