And let me guess, you don't have anything to redraw, because you were making the bare minimum repayments so you could claim a tax loss? That's not fault of the government, or the bank, or the taxpayer. It's your fault for taking a risky strategy and assuming 'she'll be right' for 30 years to come.

What’s the difference? Stock market investment, esp on the penny end, also experiencing a period where the stocks collapsed & stay down on bottom end for years/decade... never have a chance of breaking even again, ever... & no divvy whatsoever. Many suspended forever.

At least Brick & mortar you can touch it & live in it...
