    Hi robmillion

No one can force you to pay by direct debit

You have to comply with your lease agreement
If you are lax/late with rent payments your rights dissipate quickly

Regardless of your rights the agent is endeavoring to cut costs and staff so every thing is a negotiation and it is in both your interests to do this.

But there are a variety of methods that you can do this and you have to find one that suits you both,
Do a BPay, do a bank transfer if you have internet banking, get a pay in book from the agent and pay into his account.

Most small businesses are having concerns about accepting cash at their place of business as it is an unnecessary and dangerous practice

You need to know that the agent will act quickly if you have a problem and by not coming to an amicable agreement this is not going to happen
