Well, if they are prudent investors, they should walk away from the RE market and move onto another form of investment, that's what the investment game is all about. Go for the best ROI, milk it, then move on. For heavens sake, don't start pleading for taxpayer help, retired tax payers are already hurting via todays ludicrously low interest rates.
