    No it doesn't because you aren't buying $50K of groceries or petrol per month. Try and buy a car on your credit card and see how far you get.

    Letting you save a few dollars in interest is more than negated by the built-in transaction costs and the risk you will miss a payment and pay 15-20%pa. Why do you think just about everything now is cheaper if you have cash?

    If you think banks are doing you are favour you don't understand basic commerce. Similarly banks are laughing now at the suckers paying exorbitant prices for houses.
