    Bottom line is as individuals we cannot fight inflation so if we structure our investments appropriately we can make significant financial gains over the long term from a small deposit - which has been more than demonstrated on this thread. As no matter what happens in the next 10 years short of you purchasing a property that becomes a toxic waste dump it certainly will be worth far more in the future based PURELY on inflation.

    If you are into quick gains from property yes now is not the time to enter, and you have to be far more precise when you enter and exit - furthermore you have to take into account the significant purchase and sale costs. The reality is if you want to trade you are better off sticking to the share market, as there are some good trades there - but like everything sometimes you will win and some times you will loose.
