    hi wooduk,

some or most might be emotive ----------- this isn't

    pure numbers.

Now, which way is that graph more likely to go?

As to Australia being the best country in the world. Personally I think that is old hat. It may have been true quite a while back - but the world has changed, and, so has Australia.

There are many places in the world now much free-er than Australia I am sad to say. On top of that we really are a nanny state. And can anyone argue that our big city traffic is a pleasant experience now? So different to 20 or 40 years ago - now it's all tolls and endless bloody traffic jams.

No water for gardens, postage stamp home blocks, no or very small yards.

    Australia has changed.

I like the place, but, no way would I live where i lived in previous decades - and if I were younger I would do a bit of overseas tripping with the objective of looking for somewhere else to live. I feel too old to change now, but although I have travelled, I really wish I had searched a long time back.

Australia, the best place in the world --------------- na, not any more.

    have a great day all

    Pinto
