I have bought and sold houses for three decades, always using this philosophy and it has definitely paid off.
Even in difficult times, there are always people who want to buy in good suburbs.
You are much better off spending money in a suburb with a proven track record than buying in one that can not be substantiated, even if it is classed as 'trendy', and even if when you are starting off in property that you have to work a few jobs to pay that 'f...... mortgage'. After the first few, it gets so much easier.
Don't panic sell property, shares or any investment.
