now that we have had time to chew over the announcement in the last few hours, I do not see how DP could have made them sign on the dotted line..he already had provided them wih the best options and I think that could have back fired for him...the Chinese could have tried to extract a bit more from him leaving him in corner and unable to agree to their demands...

we need to know the exact details of the talks and why it failed (assuming i has failed)...not sure if we could get anything in more detail on Monday other than either "the deal is off" or "we have extended the date to XXXXXXX"...in this scenario I think we will have to grin and bear it if it is even the latter of the two...
