Omarjan Azari, allegedly planning to 'pick a random unbeliever' and kill him or her, was denied bail in Central Local Court yesterday.1 While innocent till proved guilty, it is arguable this case shows the current new bail laws, which only became effective on 28 January 2015, are working to protect public interest concerns.
