An interesting article.
Before anybody gets too comfortable with Kemerton, advisable to look at the geography of the area, including the demographic changes since the days when it was seen as a good smelter site.
I'm afraid with regard to the "just a local member" statement, Cowper far from that. Very likely to get a promotion from parliamentry secretary to minister, sometime in this term.
"a few locals might jump at the opportunity" probably applies less to Bunbury than Collie.[remember this is WA, jobs aren't exactly in short supply]
Tenardi's response , possibly signals that areas closer to Collie , rather than Bunbury, more likely.
Not sure it makes much difference to the viability of the project either way.
Short term SP would suffer imo, if they get into a media and political bun fight over Kemerton.
Would suit me if they did, quite like to buy back in, at lower than it is.
