The DUD thing about props is that some can put in Bogus Bids without actually having the money to pay for them,at least available in their trading A/c.
They used to be able to put Bogus Asks in too til the Shorting kerfuffle broke.

Now I can't do such things thru my broker but it seems some can be accomodated in such a manner.
but I still think you,craigl, are using what was called years ago Stop Loss Raids on too narrow a definition.

SL Raids relied on Automatic Stop Loss Computer settings kicking in on a 10%ish drop.They worked so well that the Pilgrims ditched Auto Stops[other than GSLO's in CFD's]
but really 2% is a one cent change in 50cent CNX?you'd have to be reeeeeaaaal nervous to run with such a,within Trading Range Stop OR be 1 cent in a 10center that is.
