been in and now out of this stock. some thoughts:
- the quality of the pressos is pretty average
- direct exposure to Chinese financial services is a negative in this market, and will attract a discount
- management did themselves no favours by flagging an issue at 40-50c, then doing it at 38c. Clearly they were poorly advised ... put it this way, if I'm selling my house and say its $300-350k, you're not going to come in and say 'I'll pay $350k'
- not sure of the synergies b/w the different businesses (eg NZ petrol cards, hotels, China etc).
- at the end of the day, it would seem hard to get super-profits in the medium term, as the barriers to entry must be pretty low (just some IT, marketing etc, any decent financial services co should seem to be able to compete). It seems hard to argue that there guys are the only ones that can do it ...
Having said all that, seems worth watching.
